Monday Motivation: Try These Basic Yoga Asanas By Rakul Preet To Start Your Day Right

Nothing can get you out of the lazy weekend like a good session of stretching. This week, be the boss & do these basic yoga asanas with Rakul Preet

1. Bhujangasana

Lazing on weekends is a must-do for most of us. But Mondays need a whole new level of motivation and energy to kickstart the week well. While grabbing a cup of coffee might for some time, a good 15-minute yoga session will go a long way. This Monday, ditch your caffeine and stretch it out.

Rakul starts her day at 6 am by a simple yoga session. She sits by sitting erect and cross-legged, joining her hands in a namaskar. She then moves to the Bhujangasana, which involves you to lie on your stomach and raise your upper body.

2. Parsvakonasana

For the next pose, which is Parsvakonasana, bend your legs in the forward lunge position. Turn to one side, stretch your left arm outward while touching your feet with your right hand.

3. Virabhadrasana

Virabhadrasana, also known as the warrior pose, requires you to stand in the forward lunge position and stretching your arms upwards.

For part two of the Virabhadrasana, you need to move your upper body sideways and extend your arms respectively.

5. Malasana

Malasana, simply put, is a squatting pose. Ensure your torso is between your knees and bend into a squatting pose to press your heels to the floor.

6. Kapotasana

Kapotasana is popularly known as the pigeon pose. It is used to stretch your hips and the torso. Kneel down and rest one leg behind you while bringing the other in front. Bend your upper body over the from leg entirely to touch to the floor.

7. For shoulder and torso

Start with your regular squat pose to stretch your legs in the opposite direction. While one takes pressure on the knee, let the other rest on the toes. Twist your torso to one side and lean in to touch your knee, while holding your hands in the namaskar position.
