Sabudana Wada

The biggest festival of Maha Shivratri can be taxing if you aren’t used to the drill of fasting, meditation, and staying put. For all those folks, here are some recipes that will save your day, quite literally. These recipes are easy to make and fool-proof ones that nobody will stop you from eating. Check them out here.

To make Sabudana Wada, you will need – soaked Sabudana, boiled and grated potatoes, green chillies, coriander, cumin seeds, salt, crushed peanuts.

Add them to a bowl and mix them well. Take a pan on medium heat and grease it with some oil. Drop a big dollop of your mix and give it the desired shape. You can also add some ghee or butter around the corner for added taste, or do away with this. Allow all sides to turn red and set it aside.

Serve it hot with any dip, chutney or ketchup.

Sprout Bhel Puri

To make Sprout Bhel Puri, you will need – boiled potatoes, raw mangoes (optional), chopped onions, sprouted mung beans (moong), chat masala, coriander, green chillies, sweet chutney (tamarind and dates), spicy chutney (garlic and red chilli powder). puffed rice, sev and puri.

Add all the ingredients to a large bowl in the given order and mix it well. Serve immediately with another sprinkle of coriander.

Mixed Fruit Chaat

To make Mixed Fruit Chaat, you will need – cubed watermelon, chopped strawberry, chopped muskmelon, cubed pineapples, sliced papaya, chopped pears, sliced green and red apples, chopped plums, thinly-sliced star-fruits. In a millstone, grind black salt, roasted cumin seeds, and green or red chillies with coriander, mint leaves and lemon juices.

Take the fruits in a bowl and then add the mixture prepared in the millstone. Let them chill in the fridge and serve chilled.

Grilled Fruits

To make Grilled Fruits, you will need – strawberries, pineapples – cut in large cubes/chunks. Let them cool and prepare the dressing. For the dressing, you will need – honey and lemon in equal proportions, chilli flakes (optional), a pinch of salt.

Take the fruits and add them to skewer (be sure to soak it in water before using), pile the fruits on it and brush them well with the dressing. Grill it and serve immediately.

Mixed Fruit and Carrot Juice

To make Mixed Fruit and Carrot Juice, you will need to add carrots, sweet lime, musk melon, apples and pomegranates to a food processor. Blend it well and sieve it through into another bowl or glass.  Let it cool and serve chilled.
