Nithya Menen has a special soft corner in our hearts, for various reasons. Apart from being an amazing actor she can sing and speak several languages fluently. Recently, Nithya completed a decade in the film business and has debuted several times. From Bollywood to Sandalwood, she has left no industry untapped. A recipient of many awards, Nithya turns 32 today. Since most of us do not have anything more to do during the lockdown period, here are 7 amazing films featuring Nithya, that you can enjoy.

First up! Ala Modalaindi is the story of two oddballs who meet at the wedding of then ex-lovers. Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film is extremely special. It was Nandini who suggested Nithya take up an acting course, instead of cinematography during her FTII entrance exam. And with this film, Nandini made her debut as a director, while Nithya debuted as a leading Telugu actor.

Urumi

The 2011 drama stars Nithya in a pivotal role alongside South Indian superstars like Prabhu Deva, Prithvi Raj, Vidya Balan and Genelia Deshmukh. Urumi is set in the 16th century and is is a revenge-drama. The film begins when the villagers decided to take charge against the foreigners and claim their land again. With well-choreographed fight sequences and sword battles, this film packs a punch powerfully.

Sega

Featuring opposite Nani, once again, Sega is an action-thriller. The film revolves around the lives and struggles of a bunch of youngsters, who try to climb their way up the success ladder in an easy way.

OK Bangaram

Mani Ratnam’s gem, OK Bangaram stars Nithya alongside Malayalam heartthrob, Dulquer Salmaan. This is an interesting film which received rave reviews because it focuses on two youngsters who wanted to stay away from the societal norms of marriage, yet wanted companionship.

Rudhrammadevi

Led by Anushka Shetty, Rudhrammadevi is a multi-starrer period drama. Rana Daggubatti, Allu Arjun, Cathrine Tresa, and many other talented actors are also seen in this film, along with Nithya. Audiences and critics praised the film for its story-telling and the actors for allowing another actor to take the lead without belittling their own characters.

Mersal

Mersal is a popular Tamil film starring Vijay, Nithya and Kajal Aggarwal. The film is what you would expect a masala Tamil entertainer to be. However, it goes a notch higher with the actors’ astonishing performance and dialogue delivery.

Geetha Govindam

Vijay Deverakonda’s Geetha Govindam needs no introduction, and that is why we saved the best for last. Nithya’s cameo in the film turned out to highly appreciated. With actors like Vijay and Nithya joining hands, there is very little that could possibly go wrong.
