Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava
The man speaks, yells, sings, moves, dances, fights and takes double the comments on himself. He is above the dialogues and the world around him. He is a character artist who recognises what art is. He is Sunil, born as Sunil Varma on February 28, 1974. He is no stranger to even the youngest of audience. In a career that started over 24 years, Sunil’s name has been rolled in credits of over 177 films, while a few have never seen the light of the day. Even as he turns 46, stardom and success only come closer to his extremely empathetic and humble being.
As we all rejoice in his glory, here are 6 films that continue to be few of his finest filmy endeavours. And as we talk it, let’s start with NTR starrer Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. In the film, he plays a supporting role who does not depend on punchlines to get your attention. Instead, he makes you teary-eyed with his display of emotions.
Ravi Teja‘s comedy film, Mirapakay brings the more commonly-known side of Sunil to us. In this film, Sunil plays the role of a hopelessly attached lover who tries everything to get the girl, who isn’t meant for him.
Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule
Not many A-list actors would agree to play a ‘panimanishi’, although the character is comic relief. But Sunil did. In Bommarillu, starring Siddharth and Genelia, Sunil’s character is effective in manipulating many incidents, that are smoothly woven into the script and this comic relief does not even come across as the manifestor.
Last on the list is director Sukumar’s debut film, Arya, starring Allu Arjun. One might argue that this film showcases Sunil only in a cameo, as the train conductor. But hey, not only does he promise to make you chuckle, but the film in itself is an entertaining watch.
Even on the actor’s 46th birthday, we hope he continues to give us a list of enjoyable films that does not end. Don’t forget to check out these films here on ZEE5, until next time.
